Review

Alright, let’s just talk straight facts here.  We’ve all played Halo at one point in our lives.  If you part of this websites demographic, then yes, you’ve played Halo..or at least heard of it.  So, what can I say about Bungie’s final chapter to the Halo saga.  Well, let’s SWAN DIVE into the best review (of this game) of your life because that made sense.  Really, I don’t want to ruin the story for you all which of course is just a lazy excuse for me to not go into too much detail on campaign except where I need to explain the story overall and all the fun stuff.  Anyway, we jump into the campaign where we’re joining up a squad of spartans that I guess are like the Black Ops of Spartans.  Really, to be honest (which is what I do when I review) I treated campaign like a chore.  When we get down to it, the campaign is like every other story line that Halo has produced (except for ODST, that was terrible).  It’s a lot more fun when you have co-op going.  The campaign doesn’t make Halo a great game on its own.

Firefight, this is like Halo mock-up of Nazi Zombies, except with firefight: it’s weak.  Zombies from Call of Duty has had a history of making peoples blood pressure rise as they reach 26 or something along the lines of that when your on multiplayer.  In firefight, I treated like campaign: a chore.  Unfortunately, I felt that this didn’t bring anything new to the table.  After the first set I yelled “I’M BORED“.

Multiplayer…multiplayer…multiplayer.  Multiplayer is usually the key for Halo, that’s what kept making replay value so high.  The game online brought something new to the table after Halo 2 launched back in November of 2004.  The idea of jetpacks, sprint, etc. was a very weird element to add to what was a perfect system.  The more variables you add to the perfect system, the more of a chance you could screw it up.  The fact is with Halo, you go up and melee a guy in the back, he would die.  Now, if he has armor lock..well screw logic because he’s stronger than He-man on steroids or some stupid joke like that.  Of course though the Halo multiplayer brings the replay value to the table and makes the game worth wild.  I would talk about theater mode but nothing changed since Halo 3.  Also, if you say “MATTHEW, you didn’t talk about the armor customizations!”…I will not respond due to the anger and confusion on how to review shoulder pads that don’t serve a purpose.

To finish this review off, Halo: Reach finishes Bungie’s saga and does hold true to the level of awesome for their final game.  Now I become depressed as I know Microsoft will continue the Halo series and make crap games and ruin a series (which is my prediction).  Halo is definitely a game to add to your collection to help finish off the series or whatever.  It’s your money, I’m just telling you how to spend it…not really..kinda.
