Review
So nowadays in video games, everyone needs that competitive edge. Whether it be through better gaming headsets that let you hear you’re enemy a mile away or it being the latest and greatest TV..or renting out pro players like OpTic Nadeshot to help raise your rank..everything except that last thing is true. What Atlanta based gaming company, KontrolFreek hopes to accomplish with there FPS Freek ELITE is to help you get the competitive advantage by what they say “..provide improved leverage, comfort and maneuverability within console game play.” This sounds to a lot of people like something too good to be true, well I’m here to dispute any doubt. Here is my review of the FPS Freek Elite made by KontrolFreek.
First of all, to answer the question that people ask first: do they work? Yes. I noticed after any hour of playing MW3 online that I was moving around a little faster, the FPS Freek ELITE must be using witchcraft because I can’t really go back to gaming without them. If it’s not witchcraft then it must be what they say: physics. They say, “by elevating the analog joystick approximately 1/2 inch, the Freeks improve range of motion by almost 40 percent..” One thing I did notice was I wasn’t making the effort to push down on the analog sticks to crouch while playing, by raising the analog stick, you’re thumbs are already stuck on the analog sticks, it produces less fatigue.
With all these positives, there must be no negatives right? WRONG. Right away when you start using the ELITE, you realize your thumbs need to become adjusted to the new height of the analog stick: does it hurt? Yes, but the hurt will go away. Your keeping your thumbs stretched out and it’s causing the aches. Now this is my personal experience, this won’t happen to everyone I assume. Besides that, I didn’t find too much to gripe about it regarding the Freek ELITE.
As far as cost effectiveness, they’re pretty damn affordable. If you’re buying a pair through their website, it will cost you $13.99 which is alright, depends how much you want to invest. Overall the KontrolFreek FPS Freek ELITE does prove itself to be a great addition to anyones (including my own) gaming setup. With Christmas coming, it’s a great stocking stuffer. So revisiting what I said at the beginning at the review, is this too good to be true? No, it works and does what it said, leaving very little to gripe about, thus leading me to finish with: it’s a good product fulfilling its intentions, to provide a better performance in FPS related games.
