It seems that Steve Jobs decided to retire today as the CEO of Apple. In a letter to the Board of the Directors and Apple fans, Jobs stated:
I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.
A lot of critics have suspected Jobs may have left due to concerns about his health. Jobs has stayed on medical leave since January of this year. That made it the third medical leave Jobs was on since 2004. The new CEO of Apple is Tim Cook who has served as interim CEO while Jobs was out on medical leave overseeing day to day operations.
Apple was also branded as one of the most successful companies out there. Jobs can leave knowing he built technology that people will go out of the way to get. We will leave this off with the rest this article with the rest of Steve’s open letter.
I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.
Steve
